
If you want to be a part of a vital service at the heart of your local community and you’d like to develop your skills, consider volunteering for Barnsley CAB. The link on this page describes the different roles.
You don’t need any particular qualifications or experience to volunteer here. You need to be:
- Good at listening
- Able to work in a team;
- Able to read and write English
- Able to do basic maths
- Able to use a computer for basic tasks
- Open-minded and non-judgemental
- Enjoy helping people
- Able to commit time each week
Training
Full training and support is provided for all roles using materials provided by the national Citizens Advice organisation. We also pay travel expenses. Working in a CAB is recognised by many employers and other organisations as a very positive experience.
